Bloom Sessions x Fuse Leeds – Open Call

Who are we?

Bloom Sessions is a creative project dedicated to women and people of marginalised genders in Yorkshire. Our main aim is to encourage these groups to engage with music and art regardless of their background. Since October 2020 we’ve been showcasing some of the incredible artists our region has to offer and this summer we’ve been granted funding by Leeds Inspired to host two gigs within the city.

‘CHAAAAANELL!’ (who are we calling out for?)

We are looking for an artist to design two gig posters to promote our events this summer.

We’re fortunate to be able to collaborate with Fuse on opening this opportunity to Fuse Leeds members. Therefore, if you’re a Leeds-based creative of colour, identify as a women or person(s) of marginalised gender and consider yourself a member of the Fuse Leeds network* – we want to hear from you!

What we’re looking for is someone who could create 1080 x 1080 (px) designs to promote each event taking place in August and September.

These will be used as the main promotional tool across our social media and therefore you can be as creative as you like with this brief! For example, you could choose to do two standalone designs or even spread out each design over several 1080 x 1080 slides (peek an example here!)

This opportunity is open to Leeds-based creatives of colour who identify as a women or person(s) of marginalised gender. In addition to this, Bloom Sessions encourages artists from all backgrounds and abilities.

What’s in it for you?

Bloom Sessions is committed to providing paid opportunities and so, for this collaboration, we’ll pay you £100.

We’ll be pushing your designs throughout the summer, both online and across the city.

Moreover, we’ll be doing feature pieces and interviews (only if you’re comfortable!) in the hopes of further showcasing your work.

How do you get involved?

If this sounds of interest, all you need to do is send over a portfolio of your work to hello@bloomsessions.com

Please include in your email:

  • A short statement (doesn’t have to be much) telling us about yourself and your art
  • Send us any links/attach any images of your work (portfolio)
  • If possible, and only if you feel comfortable, please include links to any relevant social media as well

Again, we want to reiterate that this opportunity is for Leeds-based creatives of colour who identify as a women or person(s) of marginalised gender.

The deadline is midnight on Friday, 9th July. Sadly, any applications submitted after this point may not be considered.

If you need to know anything, or have any questions, feel free to get in touch with us at hello@bloomsessions.com

( ͡❛ ᴗ ͡❛) We look forward to hearing from you!!

*If you’re not a Fuse Leeds member, but you consider yourself a creative of colour from the city – why not become one?! It’s easy, free and opens you up to exposure via their central directory. Find out more here: https://fusemcr.com/leeds
