! Tada !
It’s finally here… our line up for the first of two gigs we’re hosting this summer at Wharf Chambers.
Bloom Sessions is delighted to announce that, on the last Wednesday in August (25th), we’ll be hosting FIKA, Sofa King and Gordian Stimm!
Psssst, also, take a look at that fab design by our Fuse Leeds open call winner – Janice!! ( ͡* ₒ ͡*)
Indie grunge grrl trio, FIKA will be closing the night for us! Made up of Gracia (drums, she/her), Alanah (guitar, she/her) and Eva (vocals/bass, she/her), they’re a super exciting addition to the local scene.
Be prepared to hear some punk energy with smoky vocals and ghostly melodies. They’ve been teasing their studio time on IG and we’re super excited to hear what they’ve been working on… maybe we’ll get a sneak peek…
This will be their first gig of the year, so let’s give them a warm welcome back!
Sofa King – she/they
Self-professed ‘pop obsessive’ Sofa King will be joining us!
Dianne has been delivering us their particular recipe of dark ambience since October 2018, newer tracks such as ‘Brother’s Corsa / Spit’ and ‘Footslaps’ contains elements of synthpop and psychedelia.
Recently, she released Noted White Woman, recorded entirely on a Korg D3200! On IG she said, “this album felt a lot like pulling teeth at times, and it’s definitely taught me a lot about my relationship to music and art, so it will hold a special little place inside of me. sofa king became a public thing at the same time i publicly transitioned, and while this album is in no way art about transness (in fact every single song is about nothing real), it is intimately tied into a Real that i had to create in order to find a way to eventually exist honestly.”
Gordian Stimm – she/her
Kicking off our evening we have Gordian Stimm, an exceedingly exciting experimental artist who isn’t afraid to throw off the constraints of time and space.
Her sound is ever evolving, even within a singular track. Recent release, Flirty Lucre for Public Sector, amalgamates imaginings of experiences, emotions and moods all through what can only be described as sound collage.
Claiming a ‘signature creeping-insect sound design’… what more do you want?! Prepare to hear some serious soundwaves.
We want to reassure you that we’ll be doing the most to make this event as safe as possible RE COVID-19. Currently, this event is capped at 30 people and we will be encouraging lateral flow tests and face masks. In the lead up we’ll be keeping you up to date on any changes – be sure to check back regularly!!
Sooo… we look forward to seeing you at 7:30pm on August 25th!
We can’t wait! WOOOOPA!
